On the behalf of the distinguished Citizens and Board
of Aldermen of the City Highlandville, Missouri, I want to welcome you to
our first website. Thank you for visiting and we certainly hope you will
find something useful and meaningful here to enrich your online experience.
The City of Highlandville was incorporated in 1993
largely from the efforts of its first Mayor, Ed Underhill. We are a small
community situated on a high plateau between Springfield and the
entertainment Mecca’s of Branson and Silver Dollar City. Many of our
residents choose to live and raise their families in this small quiet
community with excellent schools and a diverse group of churches. In fact,
we are home to “The World’s Smallest Cathedral,” as listed in ''The Guinness
Book of World Records.”
Our retirees find our city as a safe and secure place
to reside. Less than thirty minutes away, they find easy access to all the
entertainment and recreation one could want. If shopping is your cup of
tea, you can find major brand stores in both Springfield and Branson. Guys,
you’re not to be left out. They sell fishing poles in both cities also.
As a former long time volunteer of our fire district,
school system and city government, I think you’ll find the Highlandville
community as an easy place to become involved. Our city is a place where
common ordinary folks with big hearts help make a significant difference in
the lives of others. Volunteer opportunities exist everywhere.
Thank you for
visiting,
Clint
Ellingsworth
